Classy Valentine’s Decor

  • Classy Valentine’s Decor

Valentine’s Day is just a few days away.  It is the perfect time to inject a little bit of romance and Valentine’s decor into your home.  This theme can be incorporated subtly and for very little cash.  Here are a few ways to do it well…

Add Valentine’s decor in small doses through out your main living spaces.  Having a little here and there will carry the them through your home and keep the decor connected.  Some classic choices for this are hearts and the color red.

Purchase a small bag of red, glittered hearts from your local craft store.  You can group a handful in a bowl, leave one out on top of a book, or even fill a glass vase with them.  This year I chose to place a few in vases and apothecary jars.  I love how there is just a peekaboo of vibrant, glittering hearts in these vessels.   Remember, less is more when you desire a classic look.

I also added the glittered hearts to the Valentine’s wreath that currently graces our front door.

This wreath was just a neutral, mixed greenery wreath.  It is the perfect scale and had the structure and base of greenery that I needed for the size of our front door.  I just added a little bit of Valentine’s decor here and there and voilà! – It is now a Valentine’s Day wreath. You can execute this same strategy on many items that you already displayed in your home.

For instance, this vase of branches.  I added a few chalkboard hearts and pinecones and suddenly this is a Valentine’s tree.

Tables and furniture pieces are great places to display photos.  Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to display photos from weddings and sweet events that highlight love.  I displayed a few of my favorite family photos on this carved, wooden tray.

Another way to inject some romantic decor into your home is through fresh flowers.  Nothing says romance better than an arrangement of fresh flowers.  I love to scatter them around the house in unique vases or unexpected arrangements.

I hope you are inspired to add some romantic Valentine’s decor into your home!  It is a perfect time to host a fun evening with your love or with your loved ones.  Although this decor will surely make a statement at your gathering, it’s the PEOPLE that truly matter.  Happy Valentine’s Day!
