Frose’ Recipe

  • Frose’ Recipe

I hosted a girl’s night recently and served Frose’.  Our temperatures have been above 100 degrees for the past week so this refreshing beverage was just what we needed to cool down!  You will need a good blender so if you do not own one, I recommend the Vitamix or it’s less expensive alternative, the Ninja. This recipe was a hit!  I hope you will give it a try and tag your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #hostingwhatmatters as I would love to see yours!  Enjoy the recipe below!

Ingredients
  1. 1 bottle of a good Rose' wine (a little darker rose seems to offer depth in flavor)
  2. 3 ounces of fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  3. 4 ounces of Strawberry Simple Syrup
  4. 1-2 cups of crushed ice
Instructions
  1. Pour the entire bottle of wine into a glass 9x13 pan, cover, and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Next, make the strawberry simple syrup (see recipe below). You can 1/2 this recipe to have just enough syrup for your Frose', but I wanted to have extra to make some nonalcoholic Strawberry Spritzers for my friends that were not drinking alcohol.
  3. Take the frozen rose' and scrape it with a fork and carefully pour it into a blender. You will need a good blender- if you do not have one, I recommend the Vitamix or the Ninja. Next add the lemon juice, strawberry simple syrup, and ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into beautiful glasses and garnish with a small lemon slice or a delicate flower as shown for an intriguing presentation. Enjoy!
  4. Strawberry Simple Syrup
  5. 10 Strawberries- de-stemmed and diced
  6. 1 cup of granulated sugar
  7. 1 cup of water
  8. Place the ingredients in a small pot over medium heat. Stir often with a fork or whisk until the sugar has completely dissolved and the strawberries are tender. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes up to 30 minutes for a more infused syrup. Next, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve crushing the strawberries as you strain. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 days.
Notes
  1. You may serve immediately or freeze for 25-30 minutes for a milk shake like consistency. If your Frose starts to melt a little too much in your pitcher just add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of crushed ice to your blender and put the melted Frose' back into the blender to blend again. It will not be quite as strong, but still enjoyable.
